Happy Anniversary to Ian and Sheena
Congratulations to Sheena and Ian Bellas who celebrated their Pearl Wedding Anniversary on Saturday night at Woodham Golf & Country Club, near Newton Aycliffe.
Ian saw Tom perform a couple of years ago in Eldon Square and must have kept his card. He contacted us and asked if Tom could provide the entertainment for their party. It was brave, because Tom sang mostly classical and Musical Theatre repertoire in Eldon Square, so he hadn't seen Tom performing for a party or in a restaurant. Of course, there are clips on YouTube and here on his website to give a flavour. Tom began quietly, whilst Sheena and Ian's gusts enjoyed their Fish and Chip Supper. Once they had cut their cake, they and their guests were ready to party! What a wonderful family and group friends they have too - they and Tom had a thoroughly enjoyable night. So many people passed on their compliments (when they weren't clapping, singing or dancing - and at times all three!), for which we are always very grateful. Thank you too to the staff at Woodham Golf Club, who were so accommodating, making our set up (including lights to add to the party mood) very easy. If you enjoyed a night with Tom, please let us know and we'll post your comments on the website.
And so, to next weekend. Tom is back at La Torre in Bedlington on Friday, and then helping with the celebrations at another Wedding Anniversary Party on Saturday.

Tom is diggin' Davanti Italia!

At both gigs, Tom began with a bit of Classical Music (it always seems to surprise and delight in equal measure) before cranking things up, and eventually having the restaurant singing and dancing the night away. A highlight was watching Tom lead a conga around the restaurant on Friday! On happy diner told us that it was a better night than New Year's Eve!
So, why the "diggin" in the title? Well, there are many sides to our Tom, and he punctuated the two Whitley Lodge gigs with a week up at Bamburgh, participating in the Bamburg Research Project Archaeological dig. He was digging within the walls of the castle, and he chose a fantastic week for weather. They unearthed various anglo-saxon artefacts - ask Tom when you see him next, it's fascinating stuff. But if music is what you are after - you will be pleased to know, he will be returning to Davanti Italia, Whitley Lodge on Fridays 29th August and 5th September. Book your tables now! If that is too long to wait, he will be performing at Davanti Classico in Tynemouth on Friday 7th August. If that is still too long to wait, then he is on at La Torre in Bedlington this Friday 26th June, and at Vercelli's in Hexham on Saturday 4th July.
